【解決手段】第1方向に沿って陰刻パターンラインが形成され、第1方向の導波チャンネルを定義する第1導光板と、前記第1導光板の下に配置され、前記第1導光板の陰刻パターンラインと交差する第2方向に沿って陰刻パターンラインが形成され、第2方向の導波チャンネルを定義する第2導光板と、前記第1導光板の側面と対向するように配置され、前記第1方向の導波チャンネルに光を照射する第1光源、前記第2導光板の側面と対向するように配置され、前記第2方向の導波チャンネルに光を照射する第2光源を備える。

Claims (9)
- 第1方向に沿って陰刻パターンラインが形成され、第1方向の導波チャンネルを定義する第1導光板と、
前記第1導光板の下に配置され、前記第1導光板の陰刻パターンラインと交差する第2方向に沿って陰刻パターンラインが形成され、第2方向の導波チャンネルを定義する第2導光板と、
前記第1導光板の側面と対向するように配置され、前記第1方向の導波チャンネルに光を照射する第1光源と、
前記第2導光板の側面と対向するように配置され、前記第2方向の導波チャンネルに光を照射する第2光源と
を備えるバックライトユニット。 - 前記第1方向の導波チャンネルと前記第2方向の導波チャンネルの直交によって前記導光板から照射される光はマトリクス状のブロックに分割される
ことを特徴とする、請求項1記載のバックライトユニット。 - 前記第1導光板の陰刻パターンラインそれぞれの深さは前記第1導光板の厚さより低いことを特徴とする、請求項1記載のバックライトユニット。
- 前記第2導光板の陰刻パターンラインそれぞれの深さは前記第2導光板の厚さより低いことを特徴とする、請求項3記載のバックライトユニット。
- 前記第1導光板の陰刻パターンラインと前記第2導光板の陰刻パターンラインそれぞれの断面形状は、四角形、三角形、円形、楕円形のうち少なくとも何れかを持つ
ことを特徴とする、請求項1記載のバックライトユニット。 - 前記第1導光板は、前記第1方向の導波チャンネル内で前記第1導光板の上面または下面に形成され、前記第1方向陰刻パターンラインの深さより低い高さを持つ第1微細陰刻/陽刻パターンを備える
ことを特徴とする、請求項1記載のバックライトユニット。 - 前記第2導光板は、前記第2方向の導波チャンネル内で前記第2導光板の上面または下面に形成され、前記第2方向陰刻パターンラインの深さより低い高さを持つ第2微細陰刻/陽刻パターンを備える
ことを特徴とする、請求項6記載のバックライトユニット。 - 請求項1から7までのいずれか1項に記載のバックライトユニットと、
前記バックライトからの光が照射される液晶表示パネルと
を備える液晶表示装置。 - 入力映像を分析してローカルディミング信号を発生する映像分析部と、
前記ローカルディミング信号に応答して前記第1光源と前記第2光源それぞれの輝度を個別制御する光源駆動部と
をさらに備えることを特徴とする、請求項8記載の液晶表示装置。
