ところがこのような従来の印判では、シャッター部材が一対の遮蔽板の先端同士を突き合わせて遮蔽を行っているため、引き出しのペン入れや携行用の筆箱等にシャープペンシルやボールペン、鉛筆あるいは千枚通し等と一緒に印判を保管した場合、引出しの開閉操作や携行時の振動等により、印判の捺印開口よりシャープペンシルやボールペン、鉛筆あるいは千枚通し等の文具類が侵入すると、突合せ縁より容易に挿し込まれて開放され、インキの蒸発が促進されて捺印不良を起こしやすくなるという問題があり、また、文具類が印面に接触してインキにより汚損されるという問題があった。
このような問題を解決するため、本願出願人は、先に特開2006−205440号により、印字体の印面を隠蔽しているシャッターとして、一方の遮蔽板の係合突片が他方の遮蔽板の係合受縁に係合するとともに他方の遮蔽板の係合受縁に係合突片が係合した係止組部として両遮蔽板の先端縁同士がロック状態に保持される印判を提案した。
しかしこの印判では、シャッター部材が強く押圧され印面側へ押し込まれると、遮蔽板自体がもともと変形可能な平板で設計されていることから、外圧に耐え切れず印面側へ向かって折れ曲がり、遮蔽板に印面が接触してインキで汚損されたり、折れ曲がることで前記ロック状態が解除され、インキの蒸発が促進されて捺印不良を起こしやすくなるという問題があり、また、同じ場所に収納されている文具類が印面に接触してインキにより汚損されるという問題があった。さらに、前記ロック状態が解除された部分から、先の尖った文具類が挿し込まれると印面が損傷され印影の欠損を生じるという問題があった。この問題は、シャッター部材がより強く押圧されても押し込まれることを防ぐようにする下尖状の補助突起が必要に応じて設けられている(特許文献3段落番号0011に記載)ことからも明らかである。
また、シャッターの開閉を約十万回繰り返すと反りが発生して前記ロック状態に緩みが生じることで、従来と同様、インキの蒸発が促進されて捺印不良を起こしやすくなるという問題や、ロック状態の緩んだ部分から文具類が侵入し印面に接触してインキにより汚損されるという問題があった。また、遮蔽板が平板でなく曲面で設計されている場合であっても、軽量化を図るため薄くしていくと剛性が低下し、前記のように外側から強く押圧され印面側へ押し込まれると、外圧に耐え切れず印面側へ向かって折れ曲がる可能性があった。
