α−1,4−グルカンおよび/又はその修飾物から構成されるα−1,4−グルカン層と
このα−1,4−グルカン層の少なくとも片面に設けられた耐水性層と、
を有する、ガス遮断性複合フィルム、を提供するものであり、そのことにより上記目的が達成される。
α−1,4−グルカンおよび/又はその修飾物から構成されるα−1,4−グルカン層と
このα−1,4−グルカン層の少なくとも片面に設けられた耐水性層と、
を有する、ガス遮断性に優れたた複合フィルムである。
本発明の複合フィルムに含まれるα−1,4−グルカン層は、α−1,4−グルカンおよび/又はその修飾物から構成される。
(1)分子量分布が狭い(Mw/Mnが1.1以下);
(2)製造条件を適切に制御することによって任意の重合度(約60〜約37000)を有するものが得られる;
(3)完全に直鎖であり、天然澱粉から分画したアミロースに認められるわずかな分岐構造をも含まない;
(4)天然澱粉と同様にグルコース残基のみで構成されており、α−1,4−グルカンも、その分解中間体も、そして最終分解物に至るまで生体に対して毒性がない;
(5)酸素、窒素、炭酸ガス、エチレン等の透過性が低い;
(6)皮膜中の水分が変動しても、強度等の物性が変化しにくい;
(7)必要に応じて澱粉と同様の化学修飾が可能である;
(8)石油系プラスチック、例えば、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、ポリエステル等に匹敵するフィルム強度特性を持つ。
(a)使用後に安全に分解、代謝される;
(b)分子量あるいは化学修飾の置換度の制御によりガス遮断性のコントロールが可能である;
(c)優れたフィルム特性により内容物を外部の損傷から保護する;
複合フィルムの耐水性層を構成する材料として、例えば、熱可塑性樹脂、ワックスなどが挙げられる。
本発明の複合フィルムは、
α−1,4−グルカンおよび/又はその修飾物から構成されるα−1,4−グルカン層と
このα−1,4−グルカン層の少なくとも片面に設けられた耐水性層と、
を有する。
(1)α−1,4−グルカン層および耐水性層を別々に製造し、これらを貼り合わせる方法、
(2)α−1,4−グルカン層および耐水性層のうち、一方の層(フィルム)上に他の層を、例えば押出しコーティングなどにより設ける方法、
(3)α−1,4−グルカン層および耐水性層を共押出しする方法、
(4)α−1,4−グルカン層および耐水性層のうち、一方の層(フィルム)上に、溶融または溶液化した他の層をコーティングする方法、
等が挙げられる。
S:標準サンプルの水蒸気透過度[g/(m2・24h)]
C:標準サンプルの単位相対湿度幅の所要時間[s]
T:試験片の単位相対湿度幅の所要時間[s]
F:標準サンプルの透過面積/試験片の透過面積。
15mMリン酸緩衝液(pH7.0)、106mMスクロース、及びマルトオリゴ糖混合物(テトラップH、林原製)5.4mg/リットルを含有する反応液(1リットル)に、馬鈴薯塊茎由来の精製グルカンホスホリラーゼ(1単位/ml)と、Streptococcus mutans由来スクロースホスホリラーゼ(1単位/ml)を加えて37℃で16時間保温し、反応終了後、生成したα−1,4−グルカンの収率(%)、重量平均分子量(Mw)および分子量分布(Mw/Mn)を決定した。その結果、重量平均分子量が1250kDa、分子量分布(Mw/Mn)が1.03のα−1,4−グルカンを得た。
ジメチルスルホキシド80gに、試験例1で得られたα−1,4−グルカンの濃度が5重量%となるように溶解し、炭酸ナトリウム2gを添加後、酢酸ビニル10gを加えて、40℃において60分反応させた。反応後、エタノールを添加して生成物を析出させ、ろ過後、数回水で洗浄し、精製した。得られたアセチル化α−1,4−グルカンの置換度は0.56であった。
上記実施例1および2で得られた各溶液を、基板上に流延し、30℃に保った乾燥機で乾燥させて、厚さ約30μmのフィルムを得た。こうして得られた2種類のフィルムと市販されている樹脂フィルムについてガス透過性試験を行なった。気体透過係数(P×1012)で示したα−1,4−グルカンのガス遮断性は、表1に示すように、酸素0.016および炭酸ガス0.13、を示し、セロファンの酸素0.12、炭酸ガス2.88のそれらに比較して10倍程度優れている。さらに、ポリ乳酸、ポリグリコール酸、ヒドロキシプロピルセルロースに対しては、100倍以上の差がある。また、α−1,4−グルカンのエチレン0.37に対してもポリ乳酸、ヒドロキシプロピルセルロースは、それぞれ、8.4と42と劣っている。
市販ポリ乳酸フィルム35μを、実施例2で得られたアセチル化α−1,4−グルカンの厚さ約30μmのフィルムの片面に80℃で加熱・圧着し、複合フィルムを得た。
市販酢酸セルロースフィルム35μmを、実施例2で得られたアセチル化α−1,4−グルカンの厚さ約30μmのフィルムの両面に80℃で加熱・圧着し、複合フィルムを得た。
市販ポリエチレンフィルム20μmを、実施例1で得られたα−1,4−グルカンの厚さ約30μmのフィルムの両面に、EVA系接着剤を用いて80℃で加熱・圧着し、複合フィルムを得た。
市販ポリ乳酸フィルム30μmを、実施例1で得られたα−1,4−グルカンの厚さ約30μmのフィルムの片面に、EVA系接着剤を用いてラミネートした。α−1,4−グルカンフィルムの他の片面に蜜蝋をコートして、複合フィルムを得た。
実施例1〜4の複合フィルムについて、試験1と同様に試験を行った。結果を表2に示す。なお、表2中、上記表1に示したポリ乳酸、ポリグリコール酸、セロファンまたはヒドロキシプロピルセルロースからなるフィルムの試験結果を、それぞれ、比較例1〜4として示す。

- α−1,4−グルカンおよび/又はその修飾物から構成されるα−1,4−グルカン層と
該α−1,4−グルカン層の少なくとも片面に設けられた耐水性層と、
を有する、ガス遮断性複合フィルム。 - α−1,4−グルカンの分子量が100kDa〜6000kDaである、請求項1に記載のガス遮断性複合フィルム。
- α−1,4−グルカンが酵素合成α−1,4−グルカンである、請求項1または2に記載のガス遮断性複合フィルム。
- 前記α−1,4−グルカン修飾物の修飾が、エステル化、エーテル化、および架橋からなる群より選択される化学修飾である、請求項1〜3いずれかに記載のガス遮断性複合フィルム。
- 前記耐水性層が、生分解性樹脂から構成される、請求項1〜4いずれかに記載のガス遮断性複合フィルム。
- 前記耐水性層が、再生可能資源を原材料とした生分解性樹脂から構成される、請求項1〜5いずれかに記載のガス遮断性複合フィルム。
