Abstract
【解決手段】二つの端面42、44間を連通する複数のセル3を形成するように配置された多孔質の隔壁2と、セル3をいずれかの端面42又は44において目封じするように配置された目封じ部4とを備えるハニカム構造体1を提供する。このハニカム構造体1は隔壁2の表面に固着したセラミックス粒子5を有する。

Description
得られたハニカム構造体の中から、セラミックス粒子の固着量が0の従来のハニカム構造体(ハニカム構造体A)及び固着量が単位表面積1cm2当たり、0.5mgのハニカム構造体(ハニカム構造体B)を選び、これら二つのハニカム構造体を、排気量2000cc、直列4気筒のコモンレール式直噴ディーゼルエンジンの排気系に搭載してPMの捕集を行った。なお捕集効率は、ハニカム構造体の上流側と下流側でそれぞれ排ガスの一部を吸引してろ紙を通過させ、ろ紙上に付着した排ガスのPMの質量から下式により求めた。
セラミックス粒子の固着量が、隔壁の単位表面積1cm2当たり、0mg〜2mgまでのハニカム構造体を選び、これらを、排気量2000cc、直列4気筒のコモンレール式直噴ディーゼルエンジンの排気系に搭載してPMの捕集を行い、セラミックス粒子の固着量に対する一定運転時間における捕集効率と圧力損失の関係を調べた。
Claims (19)
- 二つの端面間を連通する複数のセルを形成するように配置された多孔質の隔壁と、前記セルをいずれかの端面において目封じするように配置された目封じ部とを備えるハニカム構造体であって、前記隔壁表面に固着したセラミックス粒子を有するハニカム構造体。
- 前記セラミックス粒子の平均粒子径が、前記隔壁の平均気孔径の1.5倍以上であって、200μm以下である請求項1に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記セラミックス粒子の平均粒子径が、150μm以下である請求項2に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記セラミックス粒子において、20μm以下の粒子径のセラミックス粒子が、全体の10質量%以下である請求項2又は3に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記セラミックス粒子が、前記隔壁と同一の成分を含む請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記セラミックス粒子の固着量が、前記ハニカム構造体の隔壁の単位表面積(1cm2)当たり、0.001mg〜1mgである請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載のハニカム構造体。
- ハニカム構造体の中心軸から外周までの長さの1/2の範囲内の隔壁を特定隔壁とし、少なくとも特定隔壁の表面に前記セラミックス粒子が分布している請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記隔壁が、コージェライト、炭化珪素、窒化珪素、アルミナ、ムライト、アルミニウムチタネート及びリチウムアルミニウムシリケートからなる群より選ばれたいずれか1種を主結晶相とする請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記隔壁の気孔率が、50%〜80%である請求項1〜8のいずれか1項に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記隔壁の平均気孔径が、15μm〜40μmである請求項1〜9のいずれか1項に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記セルの長手方向に直交する断面形状が、三角形、四角形、六角形、八角形及び円形のいずれか1以上の形状である請求項1〜10のいずれか1項に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記隔壁が、ろ過能を有し、内燃機関の排ガス中に含まれる粒子状物質を捕集除去するフィルタとして用いられる請求項1〜11のいずれか1項に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記セラミックス粒子が、前記隔壁の排ガス流入側表面のみに固着している請求項12に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 二つの端面間を連通する複数のセルを形成する隔壁を備えるハニカム成形体を成形する工程、所定のセルを端面において目封じする工程、セラミックス粒子をセル内に送り込む工程、及びハニカム成形体を焼成してハニカム焼成体を得る工程を含むハニカム構造体の製造方法。
- 前記セラミックス粒子をセル内に送り込む工程が、前記ハニカム焼成体を得る工程の前に行われる請求項14に記載のハニカム構造体の製造方法。
- 前記セラミックス粒子をセル内に送り込む工程が、前記ハニカム焼成体を得る工程の後に行われる請求項14に記載のハニカム構造体の製造方法。
- ハニカム成形体又はハニカム焼成体の外周の少なくとも一部を加工除去する工程、及びハニカム成形体又はハニカム焼成体の外周にコート材を配設して外周壁を形成する工程を更に含む請求項14〜16のいずれか1項に記載のハニカム構造体の製造方法。
- 前記セラミックス粒子をセル内に送り込む工程が、セラミックス粒子を、少なくとも一方の端面からセル内へ気体により送り込む工程である請求項14〜17のいずれか1項に記載のハニカム構造体の製造方法。
- ハニカム成形体又はハニカム焼成体を加工した際に生じる粒子を前記セラミックス粒子として用いる請求項14〜18のいずれか1項に記載のハニカム構造体の製造方法。
