Abstract
【解決手段】 エンジンの応用品の中には、オイル冷却器などの熱交換器に空間的な制限を課すものがある。このような場合、円形よりもむしろ長方形の断面を有する熱交換器は、空間的な制限を満足することができ、所定の幾何学的な内部形状によって、材料の低減によるコスト削減を潜在的に可能にするとともに、熱遮断性能を向上することができる。この熱交換器は、管巣が位置する熱交換キャビティを画定するハウジングを備える。管巣は、複数の阻流板により支持された複数の管から六角形の包囲パターンで形成されている。この管巣とハウジングとは、入口と出口との間の蛇行状流路を画定する。この蛇行状流路は、管に対して一般に垂直な複数の部分を備え、これらの部分が流動方向切換窓により分離されている。管巣は、窓において比較的大きい隙間距離と、窓から離れた位置に比較的小さい隙間距離とを有する。加えて、管巣の各管は、少なくとも3つの他の管に隣接しており、これら管のうちの外周の一組の管が六角形を形成している。

Claims (10)
- 熱交換キャビティの一部を画定する環状内壁部を有するハウジングと、
前記ハウジング内に位置し、複数の管と複数の阻流板とを有する管巣とを備え、
前記内壁部と前記管巣は、複数の流動方向切換窓を含む蛇行状流路を画定し、
前記複数の管は、前記窓で窓距離分、前記内壁部から分離され、且つ前記窓から隙間距離分、離れて分離された管巣外周を画定する外周の一組の管を含んでおり、
前記窓距離は、前記隙間距離より長くなされている熱交換器。 - 前記隙間距離は、前記外周の一組の管の隣接する複数の管に対応する前記管巣外周の一部分において、均一である請求項1に記載の熱交換器。
- 前記窓距離は、前記外周の一組の管の隣接する複数の管に対応する前記管巣外周の一部分において、均一である請求項1に記載の熱交換器。
- 前記管巣外周は、長方形である請求項1に記載の熱交換器。
- 前記隙間距離は、前記複数の管のうちの1つの直径よりも小さい請求項1に記載の熱交換器。
- 前記複数の管の各々は、少なくとも3つの他の管に隣接している請求項1に記載の熱交換器。
- 前記熱交換キャビティは、キャビティ長に沿って均一であるキャビティ幅およびキャビティ高さを有する請求項1に記載の熱交換器。
- 前記内壁部は、互いに平行な一対の平坦な壁部分を有し、前記窓は、前記平坦な壁部分により部分的に画定される請求項1に記載の熱交換器。
- 前記窓は、前記キャビティ高さよりも長い窓幅を有する請求項1に記載の熱交換器。
- 請求項1に記載の熱交換器によるオイル冷却器を備えるエンジン。
