<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light guide plate device which can be manufactured easily and with which large quantity of light can be obtained. <P>SOLUTION: The light guide plate device has light sources 4 as light emitting diodes or the like on its back surface facing two adjacent tilted planes 2 and 3 of a light guide plate 1 whose front view is approximately rectangular and whose cross sections in two directions that are orthogonal each other are approximately parallelograms. Upsizing is realized by arranging the light guide plate devices in a form of matrix. しかし、前記特許文献1では光導入部が導光板の裏面方向に突出しているため、製造しにくい、また、光量が少ないなどの解決すべき課題があることに着目されるべきである。本発明はこのような解決すべき課題を鑑み、製造容易で大光量が得られる導光板装置を提供することを目的とする。

本発明を要約すると、正面が略矩形状をなし、互いに直交する2方向の断面がそれぞれ略平行四辺形状である導光板の隣接する2つの傾斜面に対向した裏面に光源を配置した導光板装置である。また、このような導光板装置をマトリックス状に並べて配置して大型の導光板装置が構成できる。また、導光板の他の2つの傾斜面を粗面とすると好ましい。
