Description

【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a transformer used for various electronic devices and the like, and more particularly, to a transformer having a helical coil obtained by performing a bending process at a constant curvature in a width direction of a rectangular conductor to improve a coupling constant. And a method of manufacturing the same.
[0002]
[Prior art]
A helical coil obtained by bending a rectangular conductor at a constant curvature in the width direction is called an edgewise coil, which has a special winding compared to a conventional coil that uses a conductor with a circular cross section. Although the method increases the cost, it has the following advantages and is used for various applications.
[0003]
In the conventional coil, since the conductor cross section is circular, it is impossible to increase the space factor of the conductor in the coil cross section to 67% or more. In most cases, the winding needs a bobbin. On the other hand, the edgewise coil can make the space factor of the conductor in the coil cross section close to 100%, and usually does not require a bobbin for the winding.
[0004]
Further, in a conventional coil, a conductor is often wound and used in multiple layers, so that heat inside the coil is hardly released, and the degree of temperature rise is large. On the other hand, in the edgewise coil, since only one winding is required, heat is quickly released and the temperature rise is small.
[0005]
In the conventional coil, the stray capacitance per turn is small, but if there is a folded portion, a large capacitance exists in the folded portion, so that a large C exists in the equivalent circuit. On the other hand, in the edgewise coil, since the stray capacitance per turn is small and there is no folded portion, a large C does not exist on an equivalent circuit, and excellent frequency characteristics are exhibited.
[0006]
Edgewise coils having such features are also used in transformers. FIG. 5 is a diagram showing an arrangement example of a primary coil and a secondary coil in a conventional transformer using an edgewise coil. In this example, two edgewise coils are arranged concentrically so that the edgewise coil 6b having a relatively small diameter fits into the edgewise coil 6a having a relatively large diameter, and electromagnetic coupling is performed. Is secured.
[0007]
FIG. 6 is a view showing another example of the arrangement of the primary coil and the secondary coil in a transformer using a conventional edgewise coil, which is different from the example shown in FIG. 5, and FIG. FIG. 6B is a front view. In this example, two edgewise coils 7a and 7b having substantially the same diameter are arranged side by side in the direction of the central axis so that the central axes coincide with each other, thereby ensuring electromagnetic coupling.
[0008]
In the above-described conventional example, any edgewise coil performs winding by bringing the layers into close contact with each other to reduce the size of the coil, but in any case, the insulation between the primary coil and the secondary coil is secured. Therefore, it is necessary to provide a certain distance between the two edgewise coils. For this reason, there is a disadvantage that the coupling between the primary coil and the secondary coil is reduced, and the leakage inductance is increased.
[0009]
In addition, providing a certain gap between the two edgewise coils leads to an increase in the volume of the entire transformer, which hinders miniaturization of the device.
[0010]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
Therefore, a technical problem of the present invention is to provide a smaller transformer using an edgewise coil and a method for manufacturing the same, and to contribute to downsizing of an electronic device incorporating the transformer. .
[0011]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the present invention has been made as a result of studying the arrangement of a primary coil and a secondary coil and a method of assembling them in a transformer using an edgewise coil.
[0012]
That is, the present invention provides a transformer having a primary coil and a secondary coil using two so-called edgewise coils formed by bending a rectangular conductor in a width direction at a constant curvature. The coil has a gap having a thickness substantially equal to that of the rectangular conductor between conductor layers, and the other conductor of the edgewise coil is disposed between one conductor layer of the edgewise coil and the edgewise coil. A transformer characterized in that at least a part of a plane perpendicular to the axial direction of a constituent rectangular conductor is alternately arranged.
[0013]
Further, according to the present invention, each of the two edgewise coils is formed of a rectangular conductor having substantially the same width and thickness, has substantially the same winding diameter, and the centers of the windings are arranged at substantially the same positions. The transformer as described above, wherein the transformer is formed.
[0014]
The present invention is the transformer described above, wherein the rectangular conductor is provided with reinforced insulation.
[0015]
According to the present invention, there is provided the transformer described above, wherein reinforced insulation is provided by a coating process.
[0016]
Further, the present invention provides a step of forming two edgewise coils having a gap of substantially the thickness of the rectangular conductor between layers of the conductor by performing a bending process at a constant curvature in a width direction of the rectangular conductor, The center of the winding of the two edgewise coils is formed between the rectangular conductor of one first layer of the edgewise coil and the rectangular conductor of the first layer and the rectangular conductor of the second layer of the other edgewise coil. The edgewise coils are inserted by inserting the two edgewise coils in substantially opposite positions, and rotating the two edgewise coils in mutually opposite directions around the winding center of each edgewise coil or a position in the vicinity thereof. And a step of assembling two edgewise coils by arranging at least a part of surfaces of the rectangular conductor perpendicular to the axial direction so as to be alternately overlapped with each other.
[0017]
In the transformer according to the present invention, since the conductors of the primary coil and the secondary coil are alternately arranged and substantially share the center of the winding, substantially two coils are arranged in the same space. Become. For this reason, it is possible to make the leakage inductance extremely small, and it is also possible to improve the coupling property.
[0018]
In addition, the primary coil and the secondary coil are disposed in close contact with each other, which causes a problem of insulation. However, this problem can be solved by providing the coil with reinforced insulation. Reinforced insulation may be applied to the rectangular conductor before winding, but in the case of edgewise coils, large elongation deformation is applied to the outside of the coil during the winding process, so it is necessary to adjust the insulation thickness in advance There is.
[0019]
Further, in the edgewise coil used in the present invention, since there is substantially the same gap between the layers as the thickness of the conductor, it is easy to apply coating to the entire coil. Therefore, by performing reinforced insulation by painting after winding, it is possible to avoid the complexity of adjusting the insulation thickness of the rectangular conductor as described above.
[0020]
As the material used for insulation, a polymer material is generally used, but the material is not particularly limited as long as it is excellent in insulation and workability of coating, and polyesterimide, polyamideimide, Polyurethane.
[0021]
Further, in assembling the two edgewise coils, the rectangular conductor of the first layer of one of the edgewise coils is replaced with the first layer of the other edgewise coil due to the structural characteristics of the edgewise coil used in the present invention. A method may be used in which the two edgewise coils are inserted in the gap between the layer and the second layer, and the two edgewise coils are rotated in opposite directions about the center of the winding as a rotation axis while the centers thereof are substantially aligned. This method is a method close to screwing, whereby the relative positions of the primary coil and the secondary coil can be arbitrarily set.
[0022]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Next, an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings by taking an example.
[0023]
FIG. 1 is a view showing an example of an edgewise used in the transformer of the present invention. FIG. 1 (a) is a perspective view showing a state where two edgewise coils are assembled, and FIG. FIG. 4 is a front view showing a state where the edgewise coil of FIG.
[0024]
As shown in FIG. 1, according to the present invention, the first edgewise coil 1 a and the second edgewise coil 1 b have respective rectangular conductor layers arranged between the other conductor layers. Has become. In FIG. 1B, the second edgewise coil is hatched for identification.
[0025]
FIG. 2 is a perspective view showing the first edgewise coil 1a and the second edgewise coil 1b in FIG. 1 individually. In FIG. 2, reference numeral 2a denotes one terminal of the first edgewise coil 1a, and 2b denotes one terminal of the first edgewise coil 1b.
[0026]
As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the two edgewise coils 1a and 1b are made of rectangular conductors of the same size, have the same winding diameter, and have a substantially rectangular conductor thickness between the winding layers. A gap corresponding to the above is formed. Then, in the example of the edgewise coil, after the winding step is completed, polyamideimide or the like can be entirely coated and cured to provide reinforced insulation.
[0027]
FIG. 3 is a plan view showing a state where two edgewise coils are assembled. Here, one terminal 2b of the second edgewise coil 1b is inserted into the gap between the layer of one terminal 2a of the first edgewise coil 1a and the layer of the adjacent rectangular conductor. Are inserted from directions substantially orthogonal to each other, and are pushed until the centers of the windings of the two edgewise coils substantially coincide with each other. Thereafter, the assembly of the two edgewise coils is completed by rotating at least one of the edgewise coils around the center of the winding.
[0028]
4A and 4B are diagrams showing an example in which a surface-mount type transformer is configured by using the edgewise coil after the above-described assembling process. FIG. 4A is a plan view, and FIG. 4B is a side view. FIG. 4C is a front view. Here, an EI-type Mn—Zn-based ferrite core 4 is attached to the assembled edgewise coil 3 via an insulator 5 made of a polyimide resin film or the like, and bent at four terminals of the edgewise coil. Processing was performed to obtain terminals for surface mounting.
[0029]
In this example, an EI-type Mn-Zn-based ferrite was used as a magnetic core to be assembled to the coil. However, various shapes such as an EE-type can be used as the shape of the magnetic core. As the material of the magnetic core, various materials having high magnetic permeability can be used in addition to the above-described Mn-Zn-based ferrite. Specifically, a laminate such as a permalloy, a silicon steel plate, or an amorphous alloy ribbon can be used in addition to ceramics such as Ni—Zn ferrite.
[0030]
