Abstract

Herbicide compsn. contains as active component a mixt. of S-(4-chlorobenzyl) N,N-diethyl thiolcarbamate (I) and chloromethane-sulphonyl type cpd. of formula (II) (where X is halogen, alkyl, nitro, thiocyano, maleic acid imido residue; n is 1,2 or 3) or formula (III). Phytotoxicity of (I) to rice can be reduced by using (I) in combination with (II) or (III). The compsn. can be applied to rice during the period ranging from the germination stage to 5-6 leaves stage. The active mixt. is mixed with clay, talc, bentonite, diatomaceous earth, kaolin, white carbon and like solid carrier, and opt. stabiliser, dispersing agent and emulsifying agnet are added, and the resulting mixt. is formulated as powder or granule.
