Abstract
The method comprises a treatment for the precipitation of wastes originating from processes for obtaining titanium dioxide containing sulphuric acid, iron oxide and titanium dioxide with calcium carbonate at a pH below 2.5 to obtain a white crystalline product essentially in the form of needles which comprises CaSO4.2H2O and TiO2, the latter being present in a proportion of 2.10% with respect to the calcium sulphate. The product so obtained is useful as a filler in the paper manufacturing industry.
