Abstract

The machine comprises means 17 for harvesting fodder 15, a device 1 for compacting the fodder harvested and forming it into a cylindrical bale 19 of fodder, and a device 25, 25', 51, 51' for wrapping the cylindrical bale in a protective film. The machine also comprises means 36, 36' for transferring the cylindrical bale from a position in which it is discharged from the compacting device 1 and in which the axis of the cylinder is horizontal, into a wrapping position in which the wrapping device is actuated. The entire operating cycle takes place automatically and without the bale of fodder being discharged onto the ground before it is wrapped. Fig. 1a. <IMAGE>
