Abstract
A new derivative of 9H-xanthene of formula: <IMAGE> where Fmoc is the 9-fluorenylmethoxycarbonyl group, the process for its preparation, and the functionalized resins obtainable by reaction of the said compound (I) with a resin bearing amine, hydroxyl or chloromethyl groups, are described. The resins thus functionalized are useful in the solid phase synthesis of peptides in the form of C-terminal amides.
