Description
PROTECTIHG INSTALLATION OP PLASTIC MATERIALS FOR AND VATIONS MONTECATINI EDISON Case The present invention relates to a protecting and forcing in plastic materials for ortlculturc9 and acting as a glasshouse with particularly advantageous and rational characteristics and mainly as to the ventilation of the protected The protection systems of this which are commonly tunnel mainly perform the following ng full forcing of orticultures and for exampleι cucurbitaceae vegetable peppera and string beano with particular reference to the bulb and the varieties to be sold aa cut flowers One of the most important requirements which the protection systems of this kind have to satisfy ie the reouirerasnt of a and rational ventilation of the The tunnel protection of traditional type preeent as to the above hinted requirement remarkable inconveniences due to the solutions adopted for getting One of these solutions consists in laterally to the tunnel lifting the aide or edges of the plastic film which acts as a cover and is supported by suitable vault formed This solution lets however the following inconveniences the directly the cultivation foo the part immediately out the above the thus a growth delay a consequence of an excessively quick and powerful the possibility of earthing the aide bands or edges of the covering plastic is thue remarkably reducing the resistance capacity aga wind of the whole tunnels it is on the contrary true the possibility that the plastic ilm is torn up from its supports owing to the of the wind which can act on the film lower aide throughout the tunnel no possibility is left to realize an ai space a double walled while such solution appears it increases thermal insulation and prevents aqueous drippin 9 on the cultivations at the tunnel due to the condensation of the steam contained in the inner atmosphere of the said condensation always on the just in Another solution to get the ventilation in the protecting tunnel of known tunnel type foresees the opening of one or bo the tunnel ends This system consequently requires however use o tunnels with relatively reduced length 15 maximum length can be reached in the represents a further inconvenience which be neglected from the the tunnel practical and object of this Invention is therefore precisely that of realising a protecting forcing system in plastic materials appearing fully free the above specified inconveniences while on the contrary offering the following of the cultivations got very quickly in way that air does not directly run over the cultivations 9 quently avoiding the danger of a growth slackening of said cultivations greater safety against the wind action gusts of got through an earthing of the side or edges of the covering plastic possibility of fastening plastic film to the support structure of suitably designed plastic bands which allow longer life of the covering plastic film as they protect it from the overheating mainly due to the iron support frame a consequence of the sun possibility of realising the protecting system in the form of a double walled air space tunnel which as already said grants a higher thermal insulation and eliminates the of the condensation water dripping on the cul tions0 and still other advantages which will more clearly appear to a skilled in the art through the following detailed are advantageously attained by a protecting and forcing system of tunnel in plastic materialsp for and sting of a support preferably in section and a covering in plastic filmp provided with a for the lation through apertures made in the covering plastic at the tunnel vault the warmest part that consequently requires better said ventilation apertures interspaced at a value depending on the climate and altitude of the installation spot as well as the protected cul and dimensioned with amplitude is equivalent to most of the arcade but laterally limited by the depending on the and altitude of the installation as well as the of plastic film side bands or edges which are earthed in the cultivation soil at the foot and which set up the protection of the cultivations against direct and violent said ventilation apertures too different according to the climate and the altitude of installation spot as the protected a arcade being associated with every aperture for partiall o fully occluding said aperture and consisting of a stif framework sliding on or rails and a covering plastic film having extent sufficient grant when fully stretched the complete occlusion of the concerned ventilation means for the of said moving arcades aa well as for the operation of the opening tunnel being The protecting and forcing of type being the scope of this invention will be now described more in detail as with reference to the enclosed wherein parts of the system are in all figures they appear in marked with the number and letter references and 1 schematically ahows a plan of the tunnel type protecting system being scope of this 2 it too shows an elevation of the same tunnel type protecting system in sectioned along axis of same always schematically shows perspective of the same tunnel type protecting system in previous erected to said the protecting and forcing system in plastic erials fo and growing cultivations being the scope of this inventions consists of a framework or carrying structure preferably having section iron painted or particularly section iron of square or rectangular tubular structural shape on which covering transparent plastic film 2 is applied as single sheet or double interspaced sheet for realising an air space The embodiment shown in the figure particularly foresees just an air space The plastic film is assembled with the carrying structure according to a whichever method suggested by the already known art Apertures are the covering regular intervals particular irregular the value of which is different according to the different climates of different geographic districts or the different where the installation carried out and to the kinds of the protected cultivations the amplitude of aaid apertures on the tunnel cross section to the greatest extent of the both side bands or edges of the having height which assure the of the entire bands or which tly appear as Said side having height B and kept earthed at the tunnel foot on the other both entire side bands of the tunnel of which they are integral supply that advantageous protection of the cultivation foot against the direct and violent ventilation which has already been outlined Height is fixed according to the climate conditions and the altitude of the installation spot as well as the kind of the protected Also of these apertures likewise the t of the interspace between the apertures and height B as above specified is fixed according to the climate conditions and the altitude of the tunnel installation spot as well as the kind of the on the ground of the experience and the knowledges of the cultivation By making the apertures at the tunnel upper part it is possible to get the advantage of letting the ventilation mainly and in more e ra act in the part where the tunnel internal atmosphere is the warmest onee 6 The control of tunnel ventilation through said apertures 3 is carried out by on each of them a moving arcade it too consisting of a plastio film mounted on a stiff framework 5 sliding on or r ils said in its advanced position has corresponding to the ture length and while an end of it said atiff framework hioh slides at in correspondence with the tunnel section marked same arcade is anchored to support fixed framework in way tha through opening the arcade gathers folding within the small stretch marked This solution offers the advantage of no of the film on the closed arcades of the interspaces between the but the invention spirit is not left if the solution of the stiff sliding without underi to the arcade corresponding to the interspace between two consecutive apertures is the first represents anyhow the preferred solution of the The translation motion of stiff framework 5 as already through its motion drags and gathers folding by expedients of known technique the plastic film freeing the aperture allowed by the moving can be realized and controlled in various one of which is exemplified in the attached A extremely simple method is the one of manual operations with moving arcades left fully independent each othe every is closed or open by simply displacing stiff framework 5 which slides on its guides or rails by strength of arms0 A second method in the enclosed the one of the single manual obtained through one or windlasses operated and contemporaneously acting on moving arcades with the help of cables or preferably in plastic and transmission As an alternative embodimen this method can be mechanized by coupling a raotor or otherwise of suitable power with every A third method foresees the time controlled automation the preceding control device by coupling a time lag device the or motors which operate windlasses 8 thus performing the or closing of the air intake not only simultaneously but a at regular and preselected time As an alternative o the latter the automation on the thermostatically controlled by coupling at one with the or motors it through this possible to carry out the simultaneous opening or closing of air intakes dependently on preselected This invention covered equipped with the ventilation contrivance of both tunnel heads 9 which can they too be preferably similarly to moving Said heads can be removed thus increasing the air when their operation suitably scheduled in respect to the operation of the moving they are in any operated independently on moving arcades thus allowing to open in of need only both tunnel heads while letting all the intermediate moving arcades fully cloaedo As covering filmg both in caae of single and air interspaced use can be made of any plastic material film to chosen according to different of the installation spot and protected colourlessp can used and for transparent films in Also the film thickness is various on cultivation and the economy according to which a thickness whichever can be it however to think that the thickness range to is sufficient for most insufficientOCRQuality
