Abstract

992,570. Releasable fastenings. AMERICAN DANISH OTICON A/S. Oct. 16, 1961 [Oct. 24, 1960], No. 36411/60. Heading E2A. [Also in Division H4] The housing of a miniature hearing aid (Fig. 1) is of synthetic resinous material (e.g. a copolymer of styrene and acrylonitrile) and is in the form of two shells 12, 14 (Figs. 4, 3) adapted to be clicked together by interlocking lock ribs 18a, 18b, 18c, 18d and 20a, 20b, 20c, 20d which extend along substantial parts of the edges of the open sides of the shells. The lock ribs are provided with inclined co-operating locking surfaces 18<SP>1</SP>, 20<SP>1</SP> (Fig. 5) which form an angle between 3 degrees and 20 degrees with the assembly direction. Preferably the rib angle is between 3 degrees and 5 degrees at the corner portions and between 7 degrees and 10 degrees over the remainder. The lock ribs on one shell are slightly higher than the lock ribs on the other shell.
