Abstract
999,631. Circlips. F. T. PRODUCTS Ltd. Feb. 4, 1963 [Feb. 15, 1962], No. 5933/62. Heading F2H. A shaft 16 is secured rotatably in a bore 17, e.g. in a knob 18, by a resilient split tube which is tapered and sprung into a shaft neck 20, the knob having been pressed on to the shaft so that the larger end 15 of the tube bites into the bore wall. The tube may be part-circular in cross-section, Fig. 6 (not shown), or have curved arms 12, 13 joined by a flat web 11. The maximum diameter of the smaller end 14 of the tube is less than that of the bore 17, but the maximum diameter of the larger end 15 is larger. The diameter d, Fig. 1, of the inscribed circle of the tube's larger end 15 is less than the shaft diameter.
