Abstract

982,682. Cleaning non-metallic sheets. A. ZATTI. Feb. 23, 1961 [Feb. 23, 1960], No. 6696/61. Heading B5K. [Also in Division D1] A woven felt, which can be transformed from closed-end to open-end and vice versa by means of a non-metallic hinge, comprises two opposed interlinking sets of thread loops, formed directly by the individual weft threads. As shown, the woven felt 4 has thread loops 5 and 6 at its two ends, formed by the weft threads of the fabric. A thread 7 can be passed through them to join them, and can be drawn out again to undo the seam. The felt may be made partly or wholly of synthetic fibres, e.g. of polyamide, polyester, polyacrylamide or polyvinyl chloride. The loops may be stiffened by treating them with polymerized synthetic resins. In another embodiment (Fig. 3, not shown), the felt is made in three sections, a principal centre section longer than the other two, and made of threads of natural and/or synthetic fibres, and two end sections made wholly of synthetic fibres, the three sections being seamed together as described above.
