The fuel tank 4 of a motor vehicle is made of a resilient plastic material, e.g. nylon, and press fitted into an aperture 2, in the vehicle body, e.g. in the floor 1 of the luggage compartment, the upper surface 7 of the tank forming the floor of the compartment. Complementary locating devices 3 and 5 are formed in the tank and around the aperture.
