Abstract

973,759. Fuel injection pumps. AMERICAN BOSCH ARMA CORPORATION. May 22, 1962 [June 14, 1961], No. 19712/62. Headings F1A and F1B. A combined fuel injection pump and distributer, comprising a reciprocable and rotatable piston 17, Fig. 3, having a spill port 39 controlled by an axially adjustable collar 40, is located in a housing 10 mounted in an opening 29, Fig. 1, in the I.C. engine block and is driven through a tappet 34 and toothed member 15 by a cam 32 and gear 33 on the engine cam-shaft. An annular fuel supply chamber 18 in housing 10 has fuel continuously passed therethrough. Fuel enters the pumping chamber via passage 21 and is delivered via valve 23, passage 24a and grooves 25a, 26 to successive outlets 24. Collar 40 is adjusted through linkage 41, 42 and 43.
