Abstract

955,126. Collapsible vehicles. I. KARMEL. March 16, 1962 [March 27, 1961], No. 10227/62. Heading B7B. The front legs 13 and rear legs 16 of a collapsible push chair are pivotally connected at 41 and 28 to a U-shaped member 24 which together with the supports 68 and bars 45 form a seat unit. The legs are held in splayed position by a foot-rest 86 pivotally connected at 88 to the rear legs and at 98 to links 97 carried by the front legs thus forming a toggle which is "broken" by raising the foot rest. A handle 132 is also pivotally attached to the seat unit by the pin 41 so that when the retaining catch 141 is released the handle 132 may be swung downwardly to the dotted position to form a tray unit. The handle 132 may be pivotally attached to the pivots 64 and extend rearwardly so that a part of the handle may be swung down to act as a table.
