946,816. Folding paper. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG - NURNBERG A.G. Dec. 21, 1961 [Jan. 28, 1961], No. 45871/61. Heading B6H. A former 1 for the longitudinal folding of webs of paper has bores 2, 3 along its edges from which a number of holes 4, 5 are directed outwards. Compressed air is introduced into the bores 2, 3 through pipes 6, 7. Short bores 12, 13 in the tip of the former communicating with holes 14, 15 are supplied with compressed air through a pipe 10. Regulating valves 8, 9, 11 are inserted in the pipes 6, 7, 10 respectively. The compressed air emitted from the holes 4, 5, 14, 15 provides a cushion for the web as it is folded round the former.
