Abstract
931,753. Packaging machines. R. W. HARRIS, D. H. YOUNGMAN, and MOLINS MACHINE CO. Ltd. Sept. 6, 1961 [Sept. 7, 1960], No. 30792/60. Class 94(1). [Also in Group XV] Relates to apparatus for affixing adhesivecoated stamps to an open face of a packet and which may be a part of the packaging machine described in Specification 919,705. Stamps taken from an oscillatory magazine 72, Fig. 2 (not shown), by a suction roller 3 are gummed by a roller 74 and then applied by the roller 3, Fig. 4, to one end of a packet P fed over a table 1 by a reciprocating plunger 2 which then feeds the packet P with the stamp S attached into a pocket 8, Fig. 5, formed with a slot 9 through which one end of the stamp S can project. The packet P is then moved upwardly within the pocket 8 by a plunger 7, Fig. 6, so that the ends of the stamp are folded over and adhere to the sides of the packet. The pocket 8 is then swung to a horizontal position (see Fig. 4), and the packet P ejected from the pocket by a plunger 19.
