Abstract
929,331. Pad applicators. SOLITAIRE & SAPONITE REUNIS. March 12, 1962, No. 9407/62. Class 19. In a pad applicator, a pin 18 mounted on the cover 16 is spaced from a weakened area 14 of a container wall 13 by a removable guard ring 19. On removal of the guard ring 19, the plastic container 10 can be punctured by the pin at 14 and the liquid contents allowed to flow on to synthetic latex foam pad 15 which is secured by adhesive to wall 13. Very thick liquids may be squeezed out of a deformable container into a cavity in pad 15. The cover may be secured on neck 12 by a screw-thread or by the rotational wedging of eccentric lobes provided on the coacting faces. In another form (Fig. 4, not shown) the pad has a slanting upper face and the tip of the pin enters and punctures a guiding thimble formed in wall 13.
