Abstract
925,056. Pipe couplings. W. H. HEATH Ltd. Aug. 4, 1960 [Aug. 4, 1959], No. 26558/59. Class 99(1). was A coupling for plastic tubes comprises a hollow adaptor 10 screw-threaded externally and internally and provided with a conical extension 11 against which the end of a plastic tube 20 is compressed by a nut 17 through the intermediary of a collar 14 provided with a shoulder which is engaged by an internal flange on the nut as the latter is screwed on the adaptor, the conical extension 11 extending into the tube 20 beyond the nut boundary and the collar 14 being wholly confined by the nut. The collar is formed with a bevelled internal edge 16 against which the tube is compressed upon assembly. A coupling member 21 is screwed into the adaptor to connect two lengths of tube.
