Abstract

924,710. Valves. F. B. HERRERO. March 7, 1960 [March 6, 1959; Nov. 21, 1959], No. 8073/60. Class 135. A tap of resilient plastics material incorporates a closure member 9 which has a hollow cylindrical part and a conical fluid controlling part 12, the former part having two peripheral sealing ribs 10, 11 which engage a tubular portion 5 of the tap body; the portion 5 embodies an external thread that co-operates with a winged operating part 18 of the member 9, the outer end of which latter is closed by a plug 14 with an annular rib 15. The tap inlet 2 has a threaded metallic bush 19 embedded therein. In another form the closure member has a hemispherical fluid controlling part and the operating threads are formed internally of an enlarged part of the tubular portion of the tap body.
