Abstract

901,162. Films for high energy radiation. AGFA A.G. Nov. 7, 1958 [Nov. 11, 1957], No. 35843/58. Class 98 (1). Photographic film for measuring the quantity of high-energy radiation comprises a silver halide emulsion layer containing a fluorescing substance, the ratio by weight of fluorescing substance to silver halide being from 1: 1 to 6 : 1. Fluorescing substances specified are zinc oxide, magnesium tungstate, calcium tungstate, barium tungstate activated with lead, zinc silicate activated with manganese, naphthalene, anthracene, terphenyl, phenanthrene, stilbene, diphenylethane, tolane, fluorene, fluoranthrene and chrysene. The film may be provided by exposure with a stepped wedge before being exposed to the radiation to be measured.
