Abstract
907,662. Transistor pulse circuits. BRITISH TELECOMMUNICATIONS RESEARCH Ltd. Nov. 18, 1959 [Nov. 20, 1958], No. 37407/58. Class 40 (6). The output of a common emitter pulse circuit is shunted by a further transistor having its collector connected to the emitter of the first transistor and its base fed with the inverse of the input waveform so that the further transistor is conductive when the first is cut off. In the Figure, pulses are applied through the emitter follower transistor T1 to an output terminal O feeding a capacitive line. During the negative going part of the input pulses transistor T1 conducts and rapidly charges the line while during the positive portion transistor T1 is cut off but due to the pulse fed through capacitor C transistor T2 becomes conductive to discharge the load so that sharp leading and trailing edges of the output pulse are obtained. A diode D prevents the base of the transistor T2 from being driven positively.
