Abstract
In a method of forming traffic marker stripes on roads &c., a mixture made of a transparent epoxy resin comprising a glycidyl ether of a polyhydric phenol, a catalyst in an amount approximately 10% by weight of the resin and a light reflecting additive, e.g. glass beads, fluorescent sand, polystyrene beads, or phosphorescent material, is spread on a cleaned, degreased part of the road surface to form the required stripe and cured in situ at a temperature greater than 32 DEG F. The wearing and anti-skid properties of the stripe may be improved by the addition of an abrasive, e.g. aluminium oxide, to the mixture. Hardeners specified are: diethylene triamine, ethylene diamine, diethylamino propylamine, dimethylaminopropylamine, piperidine and pyridine.
