Abstract
883,969. Shovelling machines. BAMFORD, J. C. Feb. 24, 1959 [Feb. 27, 1958], No. 6330/58. Class 68(1). A scoop assembly of a shovelling machine by which a scoop 10 pivotally connected to the end of a vertically swingable arm 14 can be locked thereto by a brace 19 and a scraper plate 25 can be swung through the scoop by a jack-actuated linkage 30, 33 when used for digging clay or the like or can be swung by the linkage 30, 33 about the pivot connection with the arm 14 when the plate 25 is locked to the scoop by a pin passing through lugs 18 and 25 on the rear of the scoop and the plate and the brace 19 is removed when digging sand.
