Abstract

887,031. Inking apparatus. RITZERFELD, W., and RITZERFELD, G. April 21, 1960 [April 25, 1959], No. 14029/60. Addition to 827,772. Class 100(2) In a rotary lithographic duplicating machine of the construction described in the parent Specification there is provided between the inking roller and the duct roller an ink transferring roller in addition to the distributing roller, the additional roller destroying any inky text image on the inking roller and providing on the latter a fresh ink film before such image can reach the distributing roller. In another form, also having the said additional transferring roller 42, the spreading knife is replaced by a spreading roller 47 forming with the duct roller 5 the ink source 36. The rollers 5, 47 are driven by gearing in the same direction, i.e. with relative peripheral motion. The roller 47 is adjustable against the roller 5, being carried on a member 43 pivoted on stub shafts on the axis 44, and engaged by an eccentric 50 provided with a handle.
