Abstract

860,965. Indicating-apparatus; speedometers. OSBERGER, H. March 3, 1959 [April 19, 1958], No. 7429/59. Classes 106 (3) and 106 (4). Lights on the dashboard of a vehicle giving warning of dangerous speeds have a transparency arranged in front thereof to show a conspicuous picture and distinguish the visual indication from any other on the dashboard. Transparencies 12, 13, 14 are illuminated by lamps 8, 9, 10 in turn as speeds of 80, 100 and 120 kilometers an hour are attained. Alternatively a single transparency is lit by one, two or three lamps to increase the intensity of illumination as the speed and danger increases or three transparencies in front of, one, two and three lamps, respectively, give a similar effect. A protective glass may take the form of a lens and the picture given by the transparency may be a portrait of the driver's next-of-kin, a terrifying picture or an inscription such as " Danger."
