Abstract
867,300. Cartons. AHLEN & AKERLUND FORPACKNING A. B. Oct. 8, 1957 [June 4, 1957], No. 31468/57. Addition to 851,359. Class 18. The carton described in the parent Specification is modified so that the openings in the partition walls 9 and 11 are extended into the bottom portions 5 and 7, and the lugs 30, 31 have projections 61, 62 which when the lugs move into the openings on erection of the carton, engage with the edge of the bottom portions at 63, 64 to maintain these bottom sections in a raised position relative to the other bottom sections 6, 8. Other modifications include the provision of abutments 59, 60 on the partitions 10, 12, a hinge 72 connecting the securing flap 35 to the partition 11, and supporting flaps 65, 66 and 62, 68 on the partitions 9 and 11 respectively. Supporting flaps 69, 70 are also provided on the securing flaps 34, 35'; a lock flap 73 extending from the supporting flap 66 serves to engage the side wall 2 when erected. Shock absorbers 74, 75 and 76 are defined by cuts and scores in the end walls 1 and 3 and the side wall 2 ; they may be pushed out as in Fig. 4, to form cushioning knees.
