Abstract

852,449. Textile drafting arrangements. SCHLUMBERGER & CIE, N. Nov. 26, 1958 [March 7, 1958], No. 38074/58. Class 120(2). In a drafting mechanism at least one of each pair of drafting components has transverse fluting teeth spaced so that the ratio of the width a of a groove to the width b of a tooth is at least 3À5 and the pitch a + b is at least 3mm. The grooves may be rectilinear or helical. The components are rollers and/or aprons and may be used in conjunction with a gill box, aprons or porcupine rollers, or in a multizone system.
