Abstract

848,546. Switchboards. SQUARE D CO. Dec. 12, 1956 [Feb. 7, 1956], No. 37908/56. Class 38 (5). [Also in Group XXXVI] A fuse or switchboard comprises a boxlike enclosure 1 in which is mounted an interior assembly consisting of a channel-shaped base 18 on which main busbars 26, 27 are insulatingly mounted and connected by transfer bars 54 to a main switch or fuse 51 having line terminals 53. Neutral bars 61 are provided on either side of the main switch or fuse. Attached to the bus-bars 26, 27 is a plurality of transferbars 45, alternate bars 45 being connected to a different bus-bar and extending towards the other bus-bar. The bars 45 terminate in cylindrical portions 48 and are cranked at 47, each portion 48 being adapted, in conjunction with beaded edge portions 24, 25 of the base 18, to detachably support two single or double-pole fuse bases 72, 71 or switches. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 793,885.
