Abstract

844,744. Partitions; posts jammed between opposed surfaces. STRAMIT BOARDS Ltd. Oct. 31, 1956 [Oct. 31, 1955], No. 31096/55. Classes 20(1) and 20(4) Partition supports 1, positioned within a bore formed by recesses 6a, Fig. 2, in the opposing edges of the partition members 6, are formed by tubes provided at one or both ends with screwthreaded spike members 4 which are screwed outwards until they are driven into e.g. a floor and ceiling, to jam the supports firmly in position, the spikes 4 having tommy bar holes 5 and a knurled collar 3 to assist rotation. In the case of horizontally arranged supports, the spikes 4 are driven into the faces of two opposing walls and the upper and lower edges of the members 6 are recessed to receive the supports. The supports 1 may be divided in length and connected together by a screwed insert and the joints between partition members may be concealed by a fabric piping 9. An outlet 7 may be provided in the supports 1 to permit cables to be drawn therethrough.
