Abstract

839,592. Rotary flow indicators. RADFORD, K. Feb. 6, 1959 [Feb. 8, 1958], No. 4168/58. Class 110 (2). A fluid-flow indicator, for insertion in a pipe, comprises a cylindrical transparent, or semi-transparent body 1, having a through aperture 2 in which is mounted a spinner 7 mounted in bearings 6 of end discs 4. The periphery of the spinner is marked so that movement of it may be observed when fluid flows through the pipe. Vanes 9, or through holes may be provided on the spinner which may have a spring at one end to exert end pressure. One end 1b of the body 1 may be domed to provide a magnification effect. The body 1 is held in place by a clamping ring 12 pressing on a sealing ring 11. Two or more indicators may be mounted in a pipe, with spinners at different levels.
