Abstract
827,498. Textile drafting mechanism. SKF KUGELLAGERFABRIKEN G.m.b.H. March 21, 1958 [March 23, 1957], No. 9189/58. Class 120(2) In a drafting mechanism a bracket comprises a part 3 fixed to a supporting bar 1, and a part 4 pivotally mounted on a carrier arm 6 for top rolls 7 and so connected to the part 3 as to permit lateral swinging in a plane parallel to the plane of the drafting field, thus allowing automatic alignment of the top and bottom rolls. The part 4 swings about a ball 17 held in recesses in a thrust plate 18 and a transverse web of the part 4 by the ends 3" of the part 3. Balls 15 are constrained to move on a thrust plate 10, which passes through slots 12 in the part 3 and engages in recesses 11 in the part 4, by a thrust plate 13 held by the ends 3<SP>1</SP> of the part 3 and transmit the pressure of weighting springs (not shown) for the top rolls to the part 3. The thrust plates may be integral with the parts 3 and 4.
