Abstract

Tablets containing meprobamate are made by a process whereby, prior to tableting by known techniques, the meprobamate either alone or admixed with pharmaceutically acceptable diluents, carriers, disintegrating agents, lubricating agents, is heated until sintering takes place. Examples of carriers are maize starch, calcium carbonate, light or heavy magnesium carbonate, calcium phosphate, potato or rice starch; or lubricating agents; stearic acid, magnesium stearate; or disintegrating agents, maize starch, alginic acid.
