Abstract
817,159. Sun visors for vehicles. HAPPICH G.m.b.H., GEB. Nov. 23, 1956 [March 26, 1956; Aug. 24, 1956], No. 35993/56. Addition to 790,534. Class 103(2) A sun visor for use in vehicles comprising a yieldable pocket filled with cushioning material and distended by a resilient frame as described in the parent Specification is characterized in that the cushioning material is in the form of a single sheet 3, Figs. 3 and 4, which is provided with a peripheral slot 5 to receive the frame 1, Fig. 1. The frame 1 has a reinforced upper limb formed by superimposed end sections 6. 7 welded together at points 11 and provided with spaces 8 to receive fastening means for the mounting clip. The open edges 4, 4<SP>1</SP>, 4<SP>2</SP>, 4<SP>3</SP> of the slot 5 are stuck together so that the frame is embeded in the slot and the pocket walls 2, 2<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 6, are applied to the sides of the sheet and united by a continuous welding seam 12. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 11, the clip 15 is covered by the walls 2, 2<SP>1</SP> of the pocket and a cap 18 is secured by a screw 21 over the walls and clip, the cap having an opening aligned with the clip opening 14 to receive the visor mounting arm.
