Abstract
816,851. Cleaning tanks. DAIRY SUPPLY CO. Ltd. Oct. 20, 1955 [Oct. 20, 1954], No. 30189/54. Class 138(1). Apparatus for receiving milk and from which it is pumped to a tanker comprises a milk chamber 1, a water storage tank 2, a mixing chamber 3 in which solutions of a detergent and of a sterilizer may be prepared, a pump 4, and a system of pipes and valves by whose means water and the solutions may flow into and through the chamber 1, the several parts being so arranged that water may be projected into the chamber to clean it, and by a rearrangement of certain parts a detergent and sterilizer may be admitted into the tank, and by a further rearrangement of parts a further cleansing of the tank by sterile water can occur. An agitator 21 in the tank 1 prevents cream rising in the milk. Parts 5 and 6 contain the detergent and sterilizer respectively.
