Abstract

808,243. Toy revolvers. HUBLEY MANUFACTURING CO. Jan. 22, 1957 [Nov. 5, 1956], No. 2262/57. Class 132(3) A toy. revolver includes a rotatable magazine cylinder C for receiving simulated shells D which detonate caps D' placed on anvil elements 9 forming part of an ejector E. The ejector is slidable within the cylinder and each cap seating face is provided with an opening 11 leading to a chamber having an open end 12 for the escape of gas and smoke. The ejector body is secured on a shaft 14 slidable in a bearing portion 7 and in a journal sleeve 13a, and a spring 17 surrounding part of the shaft is located between the ejector and the cylinder. The barrel portion A is pivoted to the stock B on a pin 1 which also supports a cam F having a finger 21 and a shoulder 23, and a detent G provided in the stock has a head 24 engageable with the cam. A spring latch 2 normally locks the barrel to the stock and also maintains the ejector and cylinder in register by pressure of a shoulder 5 on the end 6 of the cylinder. A round of shells and caps are fired by means of a trigger T which operates a hammer T<SP>1</SP> and causes a ratchet R to rotate the cylinder. To reload, the latch 2 is first lifted and the barrel portion A allowed to pivot clear of the stock. The latch is then released to allow it to re-engage the end 6 of the cylinder. As the barrel continues to pivot, the end 16a of the ejector shaft 14 bears on the cam finger 21 and the spring 17 is compressed, the cam F being held by the detent G. The shells D may be removed when the barrel portion reaches the dotted line position shown in Fig. 1, but the barrel will normally be pivoted to the position shown in Fig. 2 in which the shells will be completely ejected and cap debris removed from anvil seats 10. On further pivoting the stock such that an abutment H engages the detent G, the cam F is released and' the ejector allowed to return to its original position, Fig. 3. Caps may then be placed on the seats 10 and the shells replaced, the barrel being returned to its firing position and secured by the latch 2.
