Abstract

807,719. Pipe &c. end connections. COMPOFLEX CO. Ltd. Sept 12, 1956 [Oct. 27, 1955], No. 30704/55. Class 99(1). [Also in Group XXV] In a connection of the kind comprising a nipple 10, attached to a pipe, and a nut 13, a thrust washer 15 in the form of a discontinuous spring metal circlip, placed between the nipple and the nut has contacting surfaces of low coefficient of friction so as to reduce the tendency of the nipple to rotate on tightening the nut. The washer 15 has fine ground surfaces which are cadmium or chromium plated and polished, or alternatively are coated with a lubricant such as molybdenum disulphide or graphite.
