Abstract
775,145. Electrostatic precipitation. AIRMAZE CORPORATION. Jan. 26, 1955 [Feb. 10, 1954], No. 2318/55. Class 39(1). The plates of a precipitator or precipitator cells 10, are cleaned by moving a pipe 30 provided with upwardly directed spray nozzles 30a back and forth in a casing 26 below the main housing 11. The pipe 30 is parallel to the edges of the plates. A second pipe 31 with nozzles 31 is provided to supply oil for forming dirt collecting films on the plates after they have been cleaned. The pipes 30, 31 are mounted on rollers 32 which run on guide rails, and are connected to flexible supply pipes 41. The pipes 30, 31 are moved by belt 48 and pulleys 44, 45 one of which is driven by a handle 52 or by a motor. The precipitator cells are of the two-stage type described in Specification 684,194.
