Abstract

760,725. Eccentrics. HORDERN MASON & EDWARDS, Ltd. Jan. 31, 1955 [Jan. 30, 1954], No. 2862/54. Class 122 (1). [Also in Group XXIV] A variable-throw crank or eccentric comprises an eccentric bored sleeve 14 which is mounted upon the main crank-pin or eccentric 11 and is adjustable relatively thereto to vary the throw or eccentricity. The sleeve 14 has a flange 16 thereon with teeth 17 which are engaged by teeth on a locking-member 18 slidable along splines on the cheek 13 of the crank or eccentric. The locking member 18 is adapted to be moved into or out of locking engagement by a ring 23 located axially by an extension 28 of the sleeve flange 16 and in screwed engagement with the member 18. Rotation of the ring 23 and the sleeve 14 is effected by tommy-bars in holes 30, 31 respectively. The ring 23 is gapped and adapted to be tightened on to the locking member 18 to secure it in locking engagement with sleeve 14. Specification 744,821, [Group XXIV], is referred to.
