Abstract
766,297. Combine harvesters. ALLISCHALMERS MANUFACTURING CO. Jan. 7, 1955 [Feb. 18, 1954], No. 604/55. Class 58. A combine harvester comprises a transverse thrashing cylinder 11, a perforated concave 13, a transverse collecting conveyer 21, a transverse drag floor 26, a longitudinal transfer conveyer 24 and separating mechanism including a cleaning shoe 54 and a transverse straw rack 16. The conveyer 21 comprises a trough 22 and a rotatable shaft 27 carrying oppositely pitched flights 28, 29 which move material, i.e. grain and chaff, through an opening 31 into the transfer conveyer, which delivers the material onto the drag floor through an opening 43 therein. The transfer conveyer has a rotatable shaft 36 carrying oppositely pitched helical flights 39, 41 and slingers 42 which throw material upwards onto the drag floor. A conveyer 50 drags material along the floor 26 into the cleaning shoe. The slingers have arcuate parts 44 connected by scoops 48. Specification 479,679 is referred to.
