Abstract

751,965. Cleaning arrangements in carding- engines. FRASER & SONS, Ltd., D. Jan. 17, 1955 [Jan. 23, 1954], No. 2097/54. Classes 120 (1) and 120 (3). In a carding-engine, non-fibrous waste discharged at the point where the carded material passes around the doffer roller 2 and is removed therefrom by a drawing roller 3 and pressing roller 4 is deflected away from adjacent working components by a plate comprising a fixed portion 5 and an adjustable portion 6 pivoted there at 7 and securable by means of a slotted quadrant 8 co-operating with a fixed pin and clamping nut 9.
