Abstract

741,328. Manhole frames. ELKINGTON, V. June 22,1954 [April 27, 1953]. No. 11570/53. Class 107. A manhole cover frame has a flat surface 6 for supporting the cover and a corrugated loadsupporting structure 9 extending downwardly from the seating. The cover is positioned by an upstanding wall 11 also corrugated and having flats 11a on the corrugations and a flat top rail 12. The frame may be built up from bar elements and secured together by bolts 15, 16. A further frame (not shown) spaced from and lying outside the frame referred to above may be used to provide for a concrete surround.
