Abstract

744,215. Suction cleaners. HOOVER, Ltd. Oct. 27, 1953 [Oct. 31, 1952], No. 29724/53. Class 8(1). A suction cleaner brush comprises a back 10 having an outer ring of bristles 12 and an inner ring 13, the bristles 12 being more flexible than the bristles 13 by being made of more flexible material or of less cross sectional area than the bristles 13. The brush has an opening 15 and a flexible shroud 20 and is fitted into a flexible coupling 11 of triangular shape the ends of the bristles 12, 13 lie in parallel planes and the roots lie in planes which may be at an angle to the first planes. The axis of the socket 21 passes through the longest bristles which are towards an apex of the coupling which forms the front of the brush.
