Abstract

723,431. Deodorizers; bandages. JEFFREYS, MILLER & CO., Ltd., and HAMPSON, E. J. Nov. 24, 1952 [Nov. 24, 1951], No. 27605/51. Classes 81 (1) and 81 (2). A deodorant means, especially a surgical dressing comprises upper and lower coverings 11 and 12 of a material which is permeable to gases and vapours between which is sandwiched a perforated lamina 13, said upper and lower coverings serving to retain powdered or granular solid material 15 capable of absorbing noxious gases and vapours within the perforations. In the surgical dressing shown, cotton wool outer felt coverings are secured to a perforated lamina by means of a suitable adhesive 16 e.g. a latex adhesive. The absorbent material is carbon granules. For deodorant means for use in refrigerators, the intermediate lamina is preferably of hardboard, metal or synthetic resin.
