Abstract

Hydroxyl terminated esters from terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol are converted to high molecular weight linear polyesters by condensation in the presence, as catalyst, of zinc acetate, and/or lead acetate. Two examples are given, one employing zinc acetate and the other lead acetate.
