Class 35 A motor with a three-phase winding has a solid steel rotor 6 with end connections 7. of copper which are firmly connected with the steel rotor either by soldering or by screws 8. Alternatively, the whole surface of the rotor may be plated with copper or other conductive material. The motor may be adapted to be connected to a single-phase supply by changing the stator winding connections and inserting a condenser across one phase winding.
