Abstract

715,655. Rectilinear-motion bearings. WARD, E. April 4, 1952, No. 8708/52. Class 12(1) A rolling member for sliding doors, &c. has a substantially spherical external bearing surface and comprises a pair of hemi-spherical cups 3, 4 connected together by an axle 5, ball bearings 10 being mounted between the inside surface of the cups and ball races 7, 8 which are mounted on the axle 5 and support a hanger 2 for the door. The bearing rail is preferably of approximately C- shaped cross-section whose upper part is formed with inwardly projecting bends 12, 13. Fig. 4, on which the cups can roll when raised.
